Trip to Huelva

I have to apologise for the actions of the Junta de Andalucia regarding the trip to Huelva planned for next Tuesday as 7 of our residents, who had registered to go, found that they could not, due to bureaucratic problems which were unforeseen until the last minute.

During the period 2006 until 2021 we (the Town Hall) organised dozens of trips and never had any issues. 

I have asked that we try and organise a similar trip to that which the Junta had organised to Huelva for later in the year and that way we can control the situation.  

May 1st Celebration. AMENDED LOCATION

Next Sunday, May 1, we will be celebrating the day of the Cross of May in collaboration with the Town Hall and the Cofradia and the Virgin of Los Dolores de La Alfoquía 

The celebration will take place at the Renfe Fairgrounds. It will consist of tapas, music, attractions for the kids and other things.It should start around midday (noon).

Come and spend a pleasant time in the company of friends and neighbours

Queens Platinum Jubilee

I have been receiving a few enquiries about what can be done by residents in Spain in relation to the above event. 

Firstly and quite obviously the Bank Holiday weekend 2/3/4/5th June 2022 is a normal weekend in Spain except for the fact that historically the last week in May is the weekend of the religious fiesta for the village of Palaces.

Anyone may organise a private event in their own home or premises however, any larger event eg street party etc., will require written permission from the Town Hall and, if a street closure is requested, the permission of the Guardia Civil would also be required. 

Should anyone require further clarification or advice do not hesitate to contact me.

Car Tax reminder

Just a reminder to those on the Padron, who own a car - it is now time for the annual car tax to be paid. You can obtain your bill electronically through the Diputacion website or by calling into the TH and asking for it. 

You can pay for it at any of the specified banks up to the 5th June.

Above Ground Pools

I have received information from our architect that any above ground pools can be installed on land which is not yet fully consolidated. Previously an application had to be made but the Town Hall would not have been able to approve it but changes to the rules mean that such pools can be installed. They still require permission but that should, in most cases, be a formality.

If anyone wishes to install such a pool and requires help in getting the correct permission just let me know and we can help.

Masks and Works

It looks like the requirement to wear masks, in public in Spain, will end at Easter although they will still be required in nursing homes, hospital and public transport.

The Town Hall workers have been busy trying to repair and make good various areas after the terrible recent weather so please be patient if you ar waiting for other works.
