This is my blog of anything I consider worth communicating to anyone interested in the happenings in our small Spanish municipality. It is primarily communications of Town Hall issues but also may include other types of information if worthwhile. To contact me please click on this link jiminysimpson@gmail.com

Calle Finlandia (Update)
Just to keep people in that area up to date. I continually press for the work to be done to repair this road on a weekly basis.
I pressed the Mayor and the councillor for Public Works (again) as to why they have not yet started and was informed that it is all agreed signed off and the only made available for the last 2 projects in the Provincial Plan which this is one of. They have been told that Nila (the contracted company) have agreed to do this project before the other and therefore it should start soon but they will not commit to a date. I am sorry but that is all I can garner from them. My guess is that it will start in the next few weeks!
The Mayor has confirmed to me that Nila will commence the repair work to this road in 2 to 3 weeks.

Walks, Trip and Flamenco
I am indebted to Beryl Booth for the first suggested walk for inclusion in our walking routes for Zurgena, which we hope to complete in the next month or so. The idea being we have a collection of peoples favourite walks which we can publish onto our website, mobile phone app, and make a printed version of, for use by visitors to the area.
If you have any walks which you enjoy and would like included in this please let me have details.
Secondly we still have a few places left on the next Town Hall trip to Los Millares on the 12th May but not many. There are also some tickets left for the Flamenco show on the 2nd June but these also are going fast. Both of these events have been detailed in earlier posts.

Water Problem
There has been a major break in the water supply and at this moment I am told it may be off all today. I will update as and when we hear from Galasa.
Having just posted some water has started to run through!! It would appear they have restored the supply much quicker than expected.
Latest info from Galasa is that if you are currently without water they hope to have it reconnected by 2.30pm today.

Fly Tipping & A Cleaner
Firstly we are receiving more reports of people fly tipping on the spare land between the pool bar and the motorway. This is not an area where dumping is permitted and people can be prosecuted for this. I am hoping to get some signs erected but this is just so as many people as possible are aware.
Secondly if anyone is interested in a cleaner. There is a Spanish lady who lives in the El Rocio area who is looking for work and has worked as a cleaner. Her name is Maria Angeles Sanz and she charges €8 per hour. If you know anyone who wants a cleaner please get in touch and we can arrange to put her in touch.
